The Himalayas

The Himalayas are on the northern edge of South Asia. These mountains contain the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest.

As you can see Mt. Everest is the tallest peak in the world.

This mountain range is in a highland region which causes the temperature to be extremely cold near the mountains. This affects the people because they have to endure the cold, harsh weathers of the Himalayas. This mountain range is significant to the people because it brings in mountain hikers around the world who want to climb Mt. Everest, and experience the highest peak in the world.

As you can see many people come to climb Mt. Everest to be the "king of the world."

The Himalayas also are a border between northern part of South Asia and East Asia.
